I don’t think this would have worked well if WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros were a PS4 exclusive, but on a portable like the Switch, this is a smaller issue. ![]() It just gets repetitive after a few games. From just simple button-mashing to a more comprehensive take on the sport, with multiple batting and pitching types, the game does a good job at catering to various types of players, all while delivering a fast-paced and hassle-free arcade experience. Not only does WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros have a sizeable tutorial, but it features a wide assortment of control schemes, depending on how detailed you want your baseball experience to be. It helps that its chibi visuals don’t exactly push the Nintendo Switch’s hardware to its limits, allowing for a very stable framerate with responsive controls. First of all, WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros runs at a juicy 60fps at all times, be it in portable or docked modes. Konami wants its franchise to compete with the big boys (or better yet, the big boy, for there is just MLB: The Show nowadays), so you probably want to wonder if the controls are decent enough to warrant the one dollar they are asking for. The game has been a mainstay in Japan for the last 15 years. While the player has the ability to play as authentic players on actual MLB teams, the players are represented by anime characters, with large heads, feet and hands with no arms and legs. The story-based mode in Power Pros allows the player to create their character and play for up to 20 years, doing activities such as earning the right to move from the minors to the majors, landing big contracts, as well as buying houses and cars, making friends on and off the field, as well as starting hobbies and making donations to charities to draw attention to the player. MLB Power Pros is a different take on the MLB license. Over the past 15 years, the game has maintained a significant presence in Japan. Even though the players can be real MLB players on legitimate MLB teams. The players are depicted as anime characters with enormous heads, feet, and hands but no arms or legs. The MLB license has been reimagined for a new video game called MLB Power Pros.
